TECHNICAL & VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TRAINING COLLEGES GOVERNORS' COUNCIL
TVETCGC was established in 2007 as the sole representative for council members in the sector and a champion voice of the public colleges in the country.
It negotiates conditions of service for staff in the General Public Service Sector Bargaining Council and Education Labour Relations Council Bargaining Units.
Its main task in colleges is to deal with governance issues. It engages the Department of Higher Education on national issues that are challenges in the sector.
It has a management committee comprising of the chairman, deputy chairman secretary deputy secretary and the treasurer.
Its day to today activities are coordinated by administrators to deal with logistics and general enquiries that affect members.
TVETCGC is a national organisation with its Head Office in Centurion.

programme called Skills for Employability, in which they offer
TVET colleges an opportunity to collaborate in the sharing of
best practice and experience with similar public further
education colleges/TVET Colleges in the UK. Each year the
British Council hosts a briefing meeting for these partnerships
to welcome UK Further Education Colleges TVET Colleges into
SA for their scoping visits and SA colleges onto the
programme.
The briefing meeting will be on the 1st of August and a
post-visit meeting on the 5th of August (10 – 12 pm). Both
meetings will be held at the British Council offices, with UK
and SA colleges in attendance.
There will be 5 UK colleges and 21 SA colleges on the day and
there will be representation from the department of higher
education
